My wife's 2016 Punto 1.2 has just had its first service at 9000 miles. Surprisingly this did not include an oil change. So I intend to do one. I got the the oil from ECP but when it came filters they listed two different ones for each brand. I'm old fashioned and buy Mann filters because they are still made in Germany, so I got a W103/3 and a W103/6 so that I would have the correct one come what may. Unfortunately they look identical apart from slightly more folds inside in the W103/6. All the Mann catalogues that I could find online list the W103/6 as just for Honda (and Accura) and tractors. An online cross reference site doesn't give any Fiat part numbers for it either, whereas it gives 5 fiat numbers for the W103/3. It was always a w103/3 that I got for her last car a 2007 GP.

I can't see the Fiat part number on the original filter as it is up against the block, and knowing my luck it won't match any of the 5 that I have. In that case I'll fit the w103/3 and hope for the best. If anyone can shed any light on this I would be delighted to hear from you. Maybe ECP just made a mistake, but it is odd, as they only list the 2 sets of filters for 2015 and 2016 puntos.

So..just the 1242cc petrol..

Could well be the same as they fitted 11 years ago..

Good luck..and do let us know what you find

( I use the Sykes.Pickavant steel band type filter wrenches..because others tend trash the filter..
So IF YOU have the wrong filter..
Or Halfrauds Sell you a pre.used and broken one..

You can drain and re.use the old one..)

TBH.. you could probably creep the old filter around far enough to read the labelling without upsetting the seal..

All sorted. The Fiat filter had the number 55256470. The cross referencing database said this number wasn't on database yet, but pointed to one on ebay. This was a Bosch filter which claimed to be equivalent to the fiat 55256470 and the Mann W610/3. As a final check, I put 55256470 into ebay and it came up with a Fiat filter matching 55256470, with it's own part number being 55230822. This latest number matched the Mann W610/3 on the database. So it got a Mann W610/3 fitted. The job took less time than finding the correct filter.:bang:

Thanks
