Hello guys,

So I've started to notice this issue a while ago, but since it wasn't that noticeable I just ignored it, but as it's getting worse I thought you guys could help me giving some pointers.

My mom recently bought a 2015 1.3 Multijet, exactly like my 2014, and I noticed her car start up and idle was nothing like mine. It was amazingly silent, you could barely notice it was a diesel inside the cabin. Just like mine, when I bought it.
The issue goes like this: when I start it up it's way noisier, then you start hearing a tapping noise through the cabin that gets worse the hotter the engine gets.
If I shuffle around inside the car (trying to shake it) the noise somewhat immediately disappears and appears again.
If I give it a bit of throttle the tapping also disappears.
I've also noticed that, when the symptoms started showing up, that tapping noise/vibration would depend on the road surface where the car was stopped.
Apart from this idle tapping, the car runs great.

First I thought it could be some insulator/cushion on the plastic engine cover, so I removed it. Even though the tapping was reduced, you could still tell.
After fidgeting around, it seems that tapping comes from somewhere around the induction/airbox.

I've googled around and it seems there's a rear engine mount located behind the airbox, and I wonder if that's the culprit.

She's about 60.000 kms (not even), so I don't think it could be injectors or the flywheel, but I have no idea.

Hope someone can help me out.
Thanks a lot, guys.

No idea..cant view video..

If exerting pressure on airbox dampens the sound...briefly remove the airbox..and see IF the noise disappears

You could always swap airboxes between car...see if it MIGRATES
I think I've already sorted it.
After some fidgeting around I found out that the induction tube on my car had a bit of play (where it meets the front frame) whereas the one on my mom's was fitted snugly. So I grabbed one of those little circular felt adhesive pads and stuck one between both things. The air box doesn't rattle anymore.
My car is still more noisy than my mom's but that could be from many things, I guess.
In about 2 months I'm going to replace all the filters and oil. We'll see how that works out.

As for the noise, if that doesn't solve it I'll report back. I'm sure I can't be the only person in the world experiencing this. :p

And thank you very much for the suggestion. If all else fails I'll try that out!

My friend, I think I have the same problem, can't you please tell me if you solve it?
Thank you
