But remember if you have donated to the forum you can get a discount code for shop for parts it all helps (y):D

Is there anyway I could find out if mine is the newer one? Perhaps a manufacture date or something? I noticed a sticker on the inside of mine, didn't read much into it.

Sorry for the many questions.

MrLeez You could have a look and see if there is a date but im not sure as i have yet to change one ,but its just a case of pulling out the light and unplugging ,but be careful they dont have much spare cable:D

Well, I took mine out twice last week. Pretty easy, so don't worry. And there was a sticker on there I remember it saying "Made in Turkey" LMAO. Didn't look for a date, though.

Thanks.

Hi guys,

I am having the same issues on my 2012 punto. The LED light works but is dim. The right side is working fine and is bright. I brought my Punto at bristol street motors, is it worth trying to go through them? or straight to Fiat?

Mine is the exact same thing as this picture. Try to give it a light slap on the side of the car near the light cluster. Mine works when I do so...

I would try them first of course then if no joy ,as i say easy to fit in around 5 mins for a replacement yourself (y)

Hi my 63 plate punto has just failed its first mot with this same problem, near side led dim. Main dealer in Hull has said £130 for the light. Is it easy to fit this yourself?
Many thanks

Yes just undo the screws then give it a tug to pull it from the bodywork to reveal the connector to the light fitting then gently release the connector ,when refitting re connect everything in reverse ,it really is a five minute job and you will have job satisfaction and some spare money for Christmas (y)

I will get onto that, had the misting problem as mentioned earlier in the post, seems pretty common. Thanks for the reply!

My little tip is whilst waiting for your new tail light to arrive take the old one out and put back in again then you will know where everything goes when the new one arrives :)

Hi Statto1505,

As everyone else has said, it's an absolute doddle to fit the light yourself if you have to buy it. Please, PLEASE don't hand your money over to the dealer!!:):D

However, have you tried hitting the bottom of the base at all, kind of roughly where the bottom of the two screws is holding the unit in place? I know that sounds completely bonkers, but genuinely it does work from time to time! Mine has been behaving itself for a good few weeks now...you can see I have posted in here several times over the past 18 months(y)

Otherwise bahamutzeta's excellent post in this thread (post 64) is another option to try out.

It's certainly possible you may not need to shell out any money at all if either of those solutions work.

Hi all,

I recently had this problem on my 2013 (63) Punto GBT. After visiting a number of vehicle specialists and electricians for their advice they came to the conclusion that it was due to the moisture build up within the cluster, which I understand is a common problem.

I decided to take the problem into my own hands. I removed the unit from the vehicle and dried it off with a towel completely. I then began to dry the unit out with a hair dryer, even removing the bulb mount and drying the inside of the unit out. I progressed to seal the unit with electrical tape to ensure no water/moisture could get inside. When fitting the cluster back onto the vehicle I also applied a few layers of electrical tape to the connections.

This seems to have resolved the problem, fingers crossed it stays like this.

I hope that this helps!

Yep, there are a few "fixes" which will all work to a certain degree!:)

Good news that it's sorted.
