I bought a new fiat punto, however, I got a normal key rather than a foldable key. If i buy a new uncut foldable key and take it to any locksmith to cut it, will i be able to use it as a replacement key? I have the key code and all those stuff.

Everyone says that the immobiliser will detect the new key and hence will not start the engine. Please advise someone...

Go to your dealer, you should have a foldable key AND a normal key. I get both with my new Punto.

If you buy an uncut key, someone can cut it but the car will not start as a transponder has to be in (this is the electronic code).
