(T) regularly - wont start, stalls at lights

O.K. driving punto mk2 1.2 8v elx 2001

intermittently (regularly) won't start, seems to start more often if i turn the key all the way, (with out turning the engine over), and leave 1-2 minutes before attempting to start it.

but i can push start it quite easily if it wont start.

stalls occasionally at lights, and have to repeat either of the above.

engine sounds lumpy, from tick over, up to 2500rpm, when in nuetral but not when driving

this seemed to start after 4th year service

has anyone got any ideas before i shell out?

First of all i would try some injection cleaner in the tank see how that gos could be dirty injecters or fuel line blockage ect..

use your sence check the service items air filter plugs and leads ect are they clean and in good order and more often than not the garage wont change half of what you pay for through lazzyness as when my cars have an annual in case i missed anything i quite literaly stand there and watch them while they work on my car. and as it your car its your life dont give an inch.

although I simply do stuff myself, unless I don't have the equipment, in which case I'll beg/borrow/steal unless absolutly nessacery. I don't trust ANY of them.

coil packs would be my first port of call after some injection cleaner, spark plugs, ht leads

did you recently run down the fuel level low or run out all together, if so dirt may have got into the fuel system.

i have run the petrol down actually, thanks for the advise, i'm going to check these things when i've got some spare time in the daylight.
