ECU Replacement but no red Key

Hi All,

I have intermitent starting problems with my 2001 8v Mk2 Punto and AA have told me a suspect coil may be the problem. I wish to swap the coil and ecu but have no red key. Could somebody please advise if this is possible. The ECU and coil are new and what is the exact procedure on swappng these items if it is possible.

Thanks

Goldenclogg

Re: ECU Replacement but no red Key

the mk2 doesn't have a red key. it does have a recall due to an ECU fault tho. check with the dealer if your car is due to be checked under that.

normally the ECU is just fitted, and it'll code itself to the car when you first fire it up (assuming it's a new ECU)

Re: ECU Replacement but no red Key

I have no history with the car and the original (new) ecu and coil were bought off the net (a lot cheaper). Would this still mean that it would be repaired by Fiat if it is a recall even though there is no service history?

Thanks

Graham
