(T) BMC CDA on mk2b 8v ?

Anyone got any pictures of fitment to a Punto MK2B 1.2 8V i can buy the BMC CDA for mk2 1.2 8v is it the same for a mk2b anyone got n e pictures about what to do with breather hose and the actual fitment ?

If you want to go this route go rather for the BMC DIA.

Why DIA everyone been telling me CDA why the DIA

The DIA is designed for smaller engines, and theres no point spending 150 quid on an air filter for an 8v

Ah right i got ya, so anyone got n e pics how i should set it up. What pipes and bends do i need and diameters involved for the neck

It isn't only cheaper than the smaller CDA it is also better.

What ever you will fit, don't use any convulated hose.

Better for every car?

The DIA is only available in a version for engines up to 1600cc. My suspicion is the they do not want to make it at BMC for the bigger engines because they would loose quite a bit of profit.

I personally would rather spend the money on a proper induction tubing and a twin cone filter.

So what would be best for my car then

Just a twin cone filter with a long smooth tube to a fairly cold point under the engine bay.

Any point in ducting air fresh air in from somewhere at the front of the car?

If you have an open filter at the end of the induction tubing it will help a bit as long as the filter is in a rather hot area. Downfall is that it often soils the filter prematurlely, which lowers the efficiency. In an enclosed filter it is giving you certainly more cold air but evenly dirt and possibly water entry when linked to the filter.

Also, when the pipe isn't smooth it might more likely increase the drag coefficient of the car then duct air sufficiently. And obviously the Diameter is important too.

If the filter element is located in a fairly cold part of the engine bay and not shielded from air entering like in the Mazda MX5 additional ducting isn't necessary.

It is a few pence under £100. All you get with it is some jubilee clips and a dodgy convulated flexible aluminium pipe. To make it work properly you need some proper tubing done either yourself or by a specialist. Otherwise you better off sticking the cheapest twin cone filter on the end of the sdame sort of pipe, which is a fraction at the cost.
