| CD player not working in 2000 Punto Any ideas on what might be wrong with a CD player in a 2000 punto. First started to occur about a month ago when the stereo would switch off by itself and would not come on again for a while. Now it just doesn't come on at all. When i press the on button nothing at all happens. Thought it would be the fuse but its not checked nor a lose connection on the battery have taken the stereo out and can see no problems with any connections. I'm thinking it is just the stero has packed in but before i buy a new one just wondering had anyone any ideas of any other problems it might be. Stereo was a blaupunkt stereo that came with the car.

| Same problem with the blaupunkt in my 2000 punto. A reckon it was a fault on the amp, overheating would cause it to switch off. i just took mine out and replaced it with a Sony changer (far better quality i reckon). Costs a few quid like but well worth it. I always thought blaupunkt's were a good make. obvuiosly not seeing as all the posts about them.
