(T) Variator...

Hi everyone, thought it might be worthwhile to a few of you to hear that I got my variator replaced last week and got a goodwill payment of 70% of the cost from Fiat even though my warranty ran out in July. I paid £141. Desira in Bury St Edmunds were fantastic - even though they didn't have a courtesy car they offered me a lift to the station and back, then when it wasn't ready when I went to pick it up (to be fair they hadn't rung me) they had a comfy sofa, TV and free drinks to pass the time as well as loads of 'What Car' magazines to read and a friendly service manager to chat to.

The car runs a lot smoother now and feels noticeably more responsive at lower revs so it was worthwhile getting the work done. The fuel economy seems to have improved as well, fingers crossed I'll get more than 300 miles out of a tank now

Can't recommend the garage enough, they were great in speaking to Fiat and sorting it all out.

i'm replacing mine in a couple of weeks, i've already got the parts
now i need the cam lockers, 2 blocks of metal £70 sheesh!
