boost probs

My punto GT is overboosting, when the boost kicks in the car feels as though it has lost the power,(ive adjusted the bleed)the boost is still there, but no pull, its hard to explain, but it feels like a flat spot, its not as bad in 1st,but other gears are very noticeable in lack of pull.can anyone help me out?

Do you mean overboost or lack of:p? Overboost would give you a power surge and not lack of power. Maybe a boost leak? whats the gauge say you´re running?

try pressurizing the intake with about 1bar and listen for any leaks(you need to cap the intake with something thight and punch a little hole on it) it shoul hold that preassure. It could also be a loose conection somewhere, if i knew more about the car then maybe i could help:).

Re: boost probs

i had the same problem it's more then likely to do with your dump valve alough your reading 1.4 - 1.6 on the gauge the problem might be that all that air is just going stright out, have you still got the stanard dump valve fitted? you can find out by looking behind the battery on the air intake if it's plastic then replace it with a nice shiny new forge one, if it's not then your problems could be either your dumpvalve just needs a qucik refurb, or it's your wastegate.
