(T) Punto Mk1 Gear Problem

Hello.

Have an N Reg Punto 1.1. I havnt used the car in a while, so drove it round the block, the gears were a bit stiff but went in without much trouble.

Two days later, the gears wont go in at all. And the reverse will growl when ever I try to put it in.

For some reason, all the gears go in fine when the car is turned off. Am so confused. Cannot drive it at all at the moment. Sob.

Please help!!

Thats a tell tale sign of a faulty clutch.

Is it hydraulic or cable? (if hydraulic the system could need bleeding, if its cable the cable may need adjusting)

I have no idea. Am guessing cable. But only because its a basic model and sounds cheaper.

No, your car has a hydraulic clutch. Try bleeding it, if that doesn't cure it probably needs a new clutch.
