Total waste of money. A 'good' fuel system cleaner every 6months is worth it such as forte.

That reminds me mine needs doing

Re: do you use oil additives

The sense of putting PTFE into a setting where it's likely to see the temperatures it sees in the combustion chamber never made any sense to me. A place I was working at had a major incident when a filter housing caught fire. It was an active charcoal filter, and that in itself isn't a problem. The problem was that there were small amounts of PTFE in the mixture.

Now, look at DuPonts MSDS for Teflon (PTFE) and look at the possible decomposition products and you will see hydrogen flouride. Hydrogen flouride, also known as hydouric acid!!!

Now, have a look at an MSDS for hydouric acid and see what a nasty little beast THAT can be. Here's a hint, it's used for glass etching as it's the only acid that will dissolve solid glass!

From a HF MSDS, (note the capitalization is on the MSDS, not mine!)

POISON! DANGER! CORROSIVE. EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS LIQUID AND VAPOR. CAUSES SEVERE BURNS WHICH MAY NOT BE IMMEDIATELY PAINFUL OR VISIBLE. MAY BE FATAL IF SWALLOWED OR INHALED. LIQUID AND VAPOR CAN BURN SKIN, EYES AND RESPIRATORY TRACT. CAUSES BONE DAMAGE. REACTION WITH CERTAIN METALS GENERATES FLAMMABLE AND POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE HYDROGEN GAS.

So, tell me again how it's a good idea to put anything containing PTFE into an engine?

Re: do you use oil additives

did anyone know that it was ici that discovered how to attach ptfe to metals to form non stick frictionless coatings

they decided there was no use for attaching ptfe to metals and sold the idea to DuPont who later dubbed it Teflon and made millions selling cock ware lol

and i can tell you that under no circumstances will ptfe attach itself to your engine under normal engine operating conditions

i would say the friction loss and engine power gain in those tests on the article were probably due to engine wear we all know what new engines are like for the first 1000 miles take a wile to loosen up and a fiat fire with 100k on i can tell you is very nice and free
