| Re: Cylinder Head extension - 1242cc you don't need retainers just lots of hands and fingers and try catch em all when you lift it of and put them back were they came from the extension is held down with ribe bits if you use anything else like torks you will break them the actual head is held down with bristal an aircraft fastening snap on tools might have all these things but the bristal especially is hard to come buy and again if you use anything else other than bristal on the head like someone else on the forum did you will break them you will need cam locking tools and the 2 rods for setting the crank 90 degrease off top dead then once crank is set and cams are locked you loosen the cam vernier loosen tensioner fit new belt tighten tensioner then tighten vernier then turn over twice then rechek tension if you need to adjust tension you need to losen vernier first set tension then re tighten vernier again this make sure you are taking into acount the stretch on the belt meaning the timing will be sot on all the timing tools you need are available from shop 4 parts

| The head bolts are Ribe M8, But if you buy new bolts they could be Ribe M9, as i found out don't know why they are different. The Head extension bolts are Ribe M8 as well. This on my 1.2 16v 1999, I am in the process of doing the head gasket, but the Ribe set i brought from my local car accessory shop, did not contain an M9 so make sure if buy a set it has one. Good luck and don't forget the cam locking tool and piston rod set.
