(T) Punto Turbo oily Water Problem

Hi All,

I have a G reg 1.9 TD Tipo and I have a problem that I hope someone can diognose for me. I am losing a lot of water every day which seems to be coming from the water pump so I have another one ready to fit but I have noticed that the water in the water tank is black and the water cap is sludgy underneath. I also seem to get a lot of fumes type of oily smoke coming up through the water tank.
Any ideas would be great..........Ta:)

Have you had the car for long??

If not long, I wonder if somebodys dosed the coolant with "Bars leaks" or similar to try and stop the loss before you got the car: it does look a bit dark and messy in the expansion tank.

However, the oily smoke through the water tank doesn't sound at all good: Headgasket might be needed ;)
It might have been run too low on coolant because of the leak, and cooked the head or gasket..

head gasket gone, or cracked block / head possibly?

I'm with John and Fix...some of the first Tipo/Tempra 1.9 TD burnt the head gasket...
