Air filter

I seen a air filter from halfords - ripspeed, just wanted to know do they fit mk2 2002 punto, and plus how does it sound, is it like really loud or anything?..

Thanks

Re: Air filter

That is just a filter, you will need some silicone or aluminum piping to run from the throttle body to the filter. Whatever you do don't sit the filter on top of the throttle body either, this will mean the filter gets very hot and will lose you power and possibly increase fuel consumption.

The filter itself is probably just as good as one you would get with a cheap induction kit from ebay. What model punto do you have? There's a kit for a ford focus on ebay that will fit the 1.2 8v model. I have this and it gives a nice sound, and for 40 quid delivered its great value.

If you want a nice sound and a dramatic performance increase, you will have to shell out for either a GSR or BMC CDA induction kit and get your car remapped.

Re: Air filter

go for a ford focus kit off ebay 35 quid brand new and my car standard was 60bhp not dyno'd though but i got my car dyno'd with the kit on in feb at red dot in watford and came off the roller with 66bhp so they do do something performance wise. But for unltimate sound and performance go for a GSR induction kit, there beasts. My car is a 1.2 8v anyway. Hope this helps

To Do List: 40mm throttle body, red dot remap, maybe a gsr induction kit in the future, Stilo Claws!

Re: Air filter

The punto 'Go!' is the 1.2 8v with sports trim i believe. Although apparently there are some 16v versions of it around. The focus kit will only fit the 8v.
