standard/small back box but loud?

hey,

does any one know of a backbox that looks standard or is small so it can be hidden behind the bumper but is still louder than standard. some performance increase would be nice.

Re: standard/small back box but loud?

their is no such thing, if you want performance increase get a supersprint backbox, not cheap tho but you get what you pay 4.

Re: standard/small back box but loud?

sporting/ active sport exhausts are louder than standard... their quite throaty...

but no performance increase

supersprint is the way to go for performance and are only slightly louder than standard... but cost the earth

Re: standard/small back box but loud?

ye i understand.

just dont want anything sticking out of the back really. i was thinking of getting a aftermarket back box and cutting the tip off so it will tuck in behind the bumper... just a plan

Re: standard/small back box but loud?

so your gonna saw ur back box tip off? the only way an exhaust can be hidden behind the bumper is if it has a downpipe otherwise the exhaust gases will not escape into the amosphere properly and problerly make its way throught the boot, other than that its illegal to do what your suggesting. hardly and performance exhaust dont stick out the back of a car.

Re: standard/small back box but loud?

no i mean your typical 'sports', noisy back box and where the silencer section ends, cut the shiny tip off. hard to explain really.

just means i will have another backbox on there but without the tip sticking out the end.

another question is will a sporting/active sport exhaust fir strait on? ie have the same connection as the crappy old one?

Re: standard/small back box but loud?

yea thats still illegal and just wrong to have the exhaust pipe pointing at the bumper from the inside and not pointing down

Re: standard/small back box but loud?

sounds like a custom job for powerflow or the alike, i never heard of the sporting and active sport back boxes being louder, esp the active sport ones as most are still 8v's dressed a bit smarter..

Re: standard/small back box but loud?

Thats a supersprint, doesnt stick out too much, isnt that much louder than standard and will give a performance increase. And they arent that expensive really, its only when you come to the manifold and sports cat and so on the price starts to ramp up!
