Car Lowering Help!

Hello, this is my 04 active sport Punto.

The questions:

What would be the best distance to lower the car (30mm, 40mm, other?)

Is it better to buy the springs from the garage I get to lower the car, or off a website?

Will the springs you suggested rub on the wheel arches, or anything?

Please bare in mind I have stock shocks (they are not altered).

Aswell as them, please posting your opinion on the car. Cheers!

Re: Car Lowering Help!

30\35mm - Handling over looks (will still look better)
50mm - Looks over handling
40mm - Compromise between the two

Also, any amount of lowering should be fine on those wheels

Re: Car Lowering Help!

50mm Spax springs would be my recommendation.

You can buy them for around £90 online.

Coilovers if you want to do it properly.

obviously you haven,t done your homework either...without going into too much.....it puts undue strain on standard shocks which in turn fecks up other things...lots on the search button as i said before
go onto google & look at some expert sites.. that is if you want it done proparly

obviously you dont have any experience with it and just listen to the critical people, i know about 5 people who have 50mm PI springs running on standard shocks, some have had them on their puntos for about 3 years and have had no problems whatsoever the only thing is the ride is harder which can be expected, yes its not the proper way to do it but it works fine and doesnt give any problems.

Any lowering will put more stress on standard parts even if you use coilovers. There are still driveshafts etc that will wear out slightly quicker but on 50mm springs it is not a big drop and will not wear stuff out that much faster than standard springs.

eh i have had quite a lot of experience son & dont just listen critical people as you put it, as it happens i,ve had 40 oddyrs driving experience & come across quite alot awee bit more than your 5 people shall we say. obviuosly guys will do what they want, i mean a lot depends on how anyone drives thier car how much milage done ect. if you want to pap on some lowering springs thats entirely up to the individual & tootle around just for the look
i thought i was trying to help here with some friendly advise, but obviously it would seem you have far more knowledge than me:confused happy driving son

Are you from the north? im guessing you are if you type in your accent. so you have been driving for 40 years and that means you know best? is any of your "experience" with suspension of this type on this car? im right in the fact you dont need uprated shocks unless you really want them, running 50mm is fine on standards.
