painting light masks

i know this may sound like a really dumb question but...what kind of paint do i need to paint these light masks? theyre black anyway, but obviously im not gonna leave it like that as they would look rubbish
what about the spray paint from halfords? does that work?
or acrylic paint left over from college...thatd save some pennies :D

oh yeah, grey primer i find easier to work with, you get a nice smooth surface after a couple of coats and a rub down with some 1200 wet n dry
