What color?

My 2004 Punto Active Sporting was described in the dealer's paperwork as being Imola yellow. (I've had it 6 months) I wanted to confirm this knowing a dealer's reputation for accuracy. However, for some reason all the data is missing from the decal which would normally contain the paint code. I guess someone in the past must have been a little too zelous about cleaning the engine compartment. I was wondering how many different shades of yellow were used that year, and would I be able to reliably determine the shade by comparing it to a color sample chart.

It will probably be Imola yellow, if you send a message to ChrisUK and a picture of your car he should able to confirm the colour, he had a Sporting in Imola yellow but dont know if he still owns it, if he does though he could probably give you the code colour.

he does own it, he did sell it to buy a grange punto but baught it back after selling the grande

IIRC there was only imola yellow on the mk2b/3 (big lights) as broom yellow stopped on the mk2 (small lights)

how to tell without a picture is park next to a yellow mk2 punto or seicento as they used broom yellow and its darker than imola

Thanks.. Yeah, you're right it most likely is Imola. Just wanted to be sure for when the inevitable interaction with other road users forces me to obtain touchup paint. Hmmm, wonder what color my interior is?

Thanks, That would be great. Maybe I can reproduce the spec plate in the engine compartment. It should have been engraved aluminum instead of a printed one. Typical testiment to modern methods.
