Question 50mm springs?

ive got a mk2 (02 reg) punto and have got it lowered 35mm at the moment but want to get some new springs and lower it 50mm.

does anyone know of places where sell these? prefably in the south east, hertfordshire area, or any decent websites that sell them!

thanks!

Re: 50mm springs?

I wouldn't advise you to go lower than 35mm. It puts too much strain on the drive train.

Re: 50mm springs?

you'll have to get new shocks as standard ones aren't designed for a 50mm drop

Re: 50mm springs?

just realised, a suspension kit will probably be the best idea!

Re: 50mm springs?

erm you will get the shocks and springs in the kit mate. Not sure how much they cost but your car will be fine with just the springs on tbh some people have run 50mm springs with no probs for quite some time depends how long you plan to have the car.

A full kit will prob cost you around £150-£200 probs but don't trust me on that. My coilover kit was £444

Re: 50mm springs?

Took it to my mates body shop at BMW. We took the wing mirrors off to colour code not hard at all to take off! We left the handles on though he couldn't decide whether to take them off and every1 in the bodyshop mocked him as he should have really. Came out fine tho mate sanded down, primed and painted, No signs of the black anywhere! Its up to you how you do it and how much time is on your hands for taking everything off the such as door cards etc

Re: 50mm springs?

yeh, i heared taking the handles off was a bit of a pain, but other people on here have sprayed their handles with them on the car, seeing as the mirrors are easy to take off, ill probably leave the handles on the car and take the mirrors off to spray them! cheers mate!
