Firstly a list of what you will need:
1x cross head screwdriver
1x thin flathead screwdriver
set of small Allen keys
Socket set (inc for removal of wheel)
Axle stands
Chocks
Trolley jack
Torch
Your lovely new handbrake cable!
On 1.2 8v vehicles both left and right cables are the same, this makes it easier to order parts but if you like to know which side has gone follow the removal of the oddments tray and surround to check the state of the cables.
I got a cable from Halfords (for speed honest
) for about just under 20 squid.
