New to this forum and wondering if any of the guru's out there can help with this one...

Engine is overfueling dramatically - plugs are black - must be getting about 10mpg.

Had diagnostic done and replaced the MAP sensor as per fault code- was also advised to check cylinder compressions - this was done and new head gasket now in place.

Engine ran for about 30 miles then same problem - plugs are black again and terrible fuel consumption.

Can anyone give me any ideas where to go next?

Did they skim the head or just replace the gasket as a warped head and no skim will just mean the gasket blows again.

Yes the head was skimmed, and we have checked the compression again and is ok, having read several other posts on this forum could it be the lambda sensor that is at fault?
