i want to tint my rear lights to completly black,iv heard i can do it as iv got reflectors on my bumper,my car is black aswell, any ideas where i can get it done and how much? cheers

well, depending on how dark, im pretty sure its not legal if the refelectors are tinted aswell, ive got both my rears lights completely tinted which i dont thinks is legal, therefore wont pass the MOT, u can get rear lights of ebay for not much, so wot im gonna do is buy some spares and switch them when it comes to my MOT. hope this helps

k wat if i leave the red flectors on my bumper grills red, dont tint them but have the lights completly black like ma car, do you know anywhere what does it, cheers

2 be honest i dont know wot is acceptable if youve got reflectors on your bumper, so i wudnt wanna say wot u cud do, but if u wanna hav ur lights tinted you can buy tinting spray from halfords (very expensive for a small amount, i should know as i work 4 them and bought 2 cans), motorworld (get more than halfords (and for bout £10, halfords £15) or ebay is also good!

what do i do jus keep going over them with more coats to get the luk i want, is it hard to get an even finish so 1 dosnt luk darker than the other cheers

yeh, u gotta be patient, light coats are key, if u spray to much on in one go then itll start to run and then ull have to remove it all and start again! just build up light coats as i sed until ur happy with how dark they are! you could also remove the front fiat badge and use body filler to cover up the hole left and then get the bonnet resprayed in the original colour! tints would also look wicked, altho the fron windows are illegal, the back passenger ones and the rear can be as dark as you want!

iv got the windows tinted the rear rear 1 is in midnight which is pretty dark and all the side 1s are only light smoke, fink i mite get them dun to medium,and mayb a sunstrip, so how many cans of spray u fink il need to get them jet black and do i jus spray laqure over to get them shiny, can i do this on my side repeaters aswell, cheers

cool, sorry didnt know u had em done already! have you got the fron windows done aswell then? if so, do u get stopped alot by cops? well i used 2 cans which i got from halfords which were really small, think ill need a third, but if u go to motorworld or ebay ull hopefully get bigger cans and 4 cheaper, jet black, i wud say 3-4 cans! even tho it says 1 will b enuf, puntos as you know hav big/long rear lights so will need more im afraid!! buy 2 to start with and then go from there!

sorry, 4got to reply to the side repeaters and laquer! yeh u can do those 2, shudnt b a prob! if u use laquer, use some wet and dry paper (use fine bout 1200 grade-wet) this should make it shiny! can add laquer after this is u want. alternative is spray the inside of the lights, i havnt done this yet, ive posted a Q if it is ok, and someone replied saying it works on a fiesta and he reckons it should work on a punto too, im gonna remove my tints on my lights and try it out!!

ye there dun the front 1s no cops havnt sed anything, i no quite a few traffic cops n iv been speakin to them about em,they sed they will only pull u if u luk suspicious etc, he sed if they are drivin past there not gna pull u jus 4 them,my m8 has his dun on a st170 he had limo on the rear and half limo on the front n the traffic cop we no sed i wunt pull u over cos there not completely dark and its not a suspicious looking car,

oh rite sorry, werent sure replying to another guy bout the same thing,lol! cheers for the info bout the tints m8! u dont have to take them off but i did, its just easier. if u look in ur car manual it tells u how 2 remove them! to get it off i wud use white spirit and some coarser wet and dry (bout 800)

no i wouldnt tint front lights, wot i would get is black angel eyes, look mint! only just come out, ive been waiting to get them for 2 years (since i got my car) and should be gettin them at the end of the month! to make ur car mre agressive you cud get new front bumper, the new phazer kit is wicked, especially the wide arch version, but expensive!

iv got the mk2b the latest 1 b4 the grande, dont fink they do the angel lights not seen any up 2 yet, that kit wont fit on mine will it cheers

Technically you shouldn't do ANYTHING that reduces the light output of your lights.
You could tint the fronts...but it is REALLY more effort than it is worth.
If you want to be really unique...get aheadlight conversion done and whack in lights from a different car

any idea hw much that would cost to do???
