Hello everyone! I'm interested is there a way to install servo steering on Punto 55 SX? My steering shaft needs replacement, and I wish to replace it with something like dual-drive electrical servo... Are there factory made units for Punto mk.1, and if not, is there a unit I could use from another car? Also, the shocks need replacement, and I'm thinking about some springs/shocks kit in price range below 400eur... Any recomendations?

yeah, my servo is called muscle-servo :D

Anyway, I think the newer models all comes with servo but my 75SX from 96 doesnt. I dont really understand why you need a servo in such a small and light car as the punto anyway. Its not hard to steer even if the car is almost still.

It's a 1996. car. It drove something over 72.000km. I'm thinking about installing a servo steering, because my parents' Punto JTD has one, and I love it. Muscle servo worked fine while the driving shaft was OK, but now it's shaky, the steering wheel has a lot of free movement before the car starts cornering. If there's no simple solution I'll just fix the #!@* shaft. BTW, today I found a set of Alesio wheel rims, along with Goodyear tires, for 390euro - last in the shop... Now I'm tempted to skip the really important parts and go for the makeup. Choises, always choises...

is what you call servo steering, the same as what we call power steering? if so it dont work by electric.

Power steering, right. It's hidraulic in it's base, but I figured dual-drive has an electric pump for the fluid, instead of the mechanical one... That would significantly ease the instalation. I might have got the wrong picture about it.

never seen it done like that, i would have thought fitting the hydrolic pump was the easy bit you just change the crankshaft pully fit the pump and a belt, i would have thought the hard bit would be changing the steering rack.
