lol thank you, its not the handbrake because its on even when driving so im assuming its the brake fluid ...thanks for that I thought it was the oil:bang:

it could also be the clutch as the breaks and clutch share the same filler bottle, check under the bonnet and see if there is enough fluid in the bottle if there is plenty in it, have a look around the engine for any fluid leakin.,.,

also it could be the wires connected to the cap of the fluid bottle, i think the light comes on when these are disconnected so it would stay on if they had a bad connection, if ya know what i mean.,., just fiddle with them a little bit,.,.
good luck with it and hopfully it not the clutch as this is a bit of a pig of a messy job, for me anyway as i have a bad reaction to whatever's in breakfluid

could also be the switch on/under the handbrake,i have had that fault on a car i owned a few years back,

Could it not just be a slack brake cable? I had the same problem recently and all it took was adjusting the brake cable and getting new rear shoes for wear as I left it for too long.

thats easy enough to test - if u can pull ur handbrake past 5 clicks on the ratchet its too loose (DOESN'T mean pull as hard as possible with 2 hands and snap it, lol) - it says in a haynes manual exactly how to tighten it up.

Mines kept flashing on and off mostly down hill sometimes on flat roads i got the rear shoes done also and handbrake tighten cured the problem..

Well just had it serviced and they noticed someone had put power steering fluid where the brake fluid should go so ....they flushed it through put new brake fluid in and hey presto the light has gone off!!! Phew
Thanks for all your help fellas xxxxxxxx

I know!!!!!!! Considering the garage I bought it from reckoned they filled everything up before I collected the car this is seriously worrying...just hope no long term damage been done!
