some times when i am accelerating away from lights mainly in first and especially in 2nd the engine gets to about 3500 rpm and the power seems to dip you keep accelerating but not as quick as it should. its hard to explain anyoen got any ideas??? other times the cr seems to go great so i know there is a deffinate diference. could lambda sensor cause this ??? have heard them mentioned a lot onhere.

lambda sensor yes, most garages can test it for you.

Sounds suspiciously like the problem I had a couple of years ago. The fault with mine was the spark plug mounting. The plug in question was arcing with the engine and cutting acceleration. I had to replace my mounting and attached lead, fiat did it for £50.
