My punto 55sx has just started leaking water, as you look at the engine its pouring out from under the engine where the cam belt is that where the water pump is?

Yepp, sure is! Ive got one i took off a 55 engine that was kn*ckered(The eng. not the pump!) its practically brand new! P.M. Me if youre interested!

I found a water pump for about £20 how much do you reckon a garge would charge to fit one, if i bought the pump from the garage aswell?

might just be gasket? bought £2 for said gasket

Well as a guess id say if YOU can get a pump for £20 the GARAGE would say they cant get one for less than £30.
They will then charge you around £30-£50 to just open your bonnet then charge an unbelievable amount per hour for labour .

I've taken it to a garage today £170!!! He was rambling about changing the cam belt aswell because of coolant leaking on to it therefore it might snap.

total pullpop money.

cam belt might have to come off to get to water pump (I think it has too). new cam belt for an 8v is between £13-25, takes no time atall to do it.

i had a small water leak a few weeks ago coming from the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator so i put 3 egg whites in it and 5 mins later everything was fine and not had a problem since yeeehaaa

Im in the north west one place quoted me 250!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Egg whites do work but its only a temporary fix and they WILL go on you, when you least want it to usually
