Hello guys, i really really need ur help! First of all, sorry for my long story.....
I was driving a punto speedgear 16V cvt, i have problem with Engine LED keep on appear on my dashboard panel since last 3 weeks. At the very beginning while i was driving my punto, my car suddenly jerking; i'm trying to press the accelerator,it doesn't give any response to the throtlle body because RPM did not change and the red engine LED coming out! But the engine did not goes off, the rpm stays at abt 900 rpm, it just feel nothing once i press the accelerator.

So i turn off the engine wait for a while and turn it on again, red engine LED remains on, rpm looks normal, and i pressing the accelerator, this time there is response on RPM meter, but the RPM does not accelerate as fast as ur accelerator pedal speed, it just feel like lack of acceleration energy like before. After that i engaged the gear lever from "R" to "D", everytime when i engaged the the to "R", i can felt my car a big jerk! Then i was start driving as normal with gear level at "D". The car can goes smoothly, but it just cannot accelerate more than 2500 rpm. In order to get higher engine revolution, i have to drop the gear and it can only be reach at max at abt 3500 rpm.

Things i've done:
-I tried to take out the battery terminal, wait for couple of minutes and put it back, turn on the engine, condition remain unchaged!

***[:0]- I also tried to take out the trothlle connector with 6 pins on it, physically check no damage on connector and wires. But the strange thing is once i put it back, the throtlle body response become normal just like before and the red Engine LED goes off after few minutes of driving.
But it just too bad, the same problem comes back again after few days of driving :(

I'm really sorry for my long story, but i really really need u guys opinion, idea and solution before i send my car to Fiat Workshop.
Thank u very much, wish u guys have a nice day :)

Best Regards,
Tubi

U did mentioned the lamda sensor, may i know which one? Is the one located on exhaust or somewhee alse?
Is it possible for me to check by myself whether the lamda is faulty? If can, pls let me know to do it, just brief explanation is ok.
Thank u very much :D

thanks :)

Hi all,

I took my fiat stilo 1.2 to a fiat garage to have my engine management light problem diagnois. They told me the problem was to do with the ignition coils.
To cut a long story short I had all the ignition coils changed and i'm still getting the same problem as before which is erratic judgering and misfires throughout gear changes.

I now believe the garage has run out of ideas and has told me I will need to get a new ECU chip which will cost roughly around £500

Can anyone help

Thank you
