how you know when it/either are on their way out?

cut long story short my bros car had the drive chain done, now the noise it made when driving has stuck in my head. now i think i hear the noise.

cars not done 50k yet

Sorry to hijack the thread, what about on a turbo diesel? Mine's just coming up to 42k on an R plate:confused:

i and many others say 40k for a diesel as well. charlie 16v need special tools, you can either buy the big kit of tools that a lot of money or just buy the lockers for 12 quid www.shop4parts.co.uk and make the piston position ones out of old spark plugs, it tells you how to make then in the haynes, the belt and tenshioner is £40 for the 16v, might be better off to take it to http://www.motor-mech.co.uk/ in west midlands where sammi goes, all the coop guys use him

Excellent, cheers Dave, I know exactly where his new garage is, I'll give him a bell and see how much a service and MOT would cost too:D

Do you mean me?

No, when I bought the car I was told by the bloke that had it before me that he was told at the last service it was coming up to needing to be done:)
