Hello,
I own a 2001 Fiat Punto 1.2. I am currently experiencing rattling noises in the back of the car, there’s nothing loose in the boot or rear seats. It sounds as if your missing a rubber on the exhaust system and its banging about a bit, but isn't this, as it was checked by a mechanic when it went in for a service a week ago, as was quite a few other options.

Has any body else experienced rattling noises in the rear of the car whilst driving? and if so.. what was the cause ?

Thanks for your time and help

I had it a while ago, was the light above the rear window, the housing was lose and needed tightening. Might be worth a look.

Common problem this is.

could be the back box knoxking on the rear axle if the exhaust has been poorly fitted.

see if you can get your hand between the back box and the axle with some room to spare.

if not then it needs adjusting.

Thanks for the replies, Also from coming back from its service there have recommended a new cambelt replacement, is this really necessarily after its only done 29000 miles although 5 years or is it a money making thing.

Also if the disc brakes were corroded what would the effects be when driving?

The corroded brake discs are on the front.

The garage am dealing with are Nationwide Direct, who are suppose to be approved by theAA. There didn't talk about a tensioner just the cambelt.

Has anybody ever used Nationwide Direct garages for work on there cars ? if so what where there like ?

Thanks Tom

The nationwide Autocentre in Wakefield who fitted the rear radius arm on my SX did a really good job, was quite happy with it...

doesn't mean evy one of their centres is going to be good tho...
