hi i am new to this but here goes, i have a 2000 mk2 diesel punto the problem is that now and again the coil light flashes when i start the engine and runs flashes for about 40 seconds, according to my handbook it indicates a fault in the coil heater plug system, i have had it back to the garage i bought the car from 5 times, in six weeks, they said it was a switch under the clutch pedel which had stuck, they freed the switch and it has been fine only comming on once in three weeks, but this week it has happened a lot more, the car goes in again tomorrow but i would like to know it any one else has had the same trouble so i can tell the garage:bang:

Normally a glow plug/circuit problem (does it start ok on cold day?) if light flashes,have fun changing glow plugs(if it is indeed the fault)as number 1 is a bast*rd

thanks for that, yea it starts great all the time, but the fault does not happen all the time, the garage , on one of the cars visits, said that they had changed the glow plugs, but how can i be sure they have, I am not very trusting of people with my car, especially garages, there is a garage I normally got to, and trust to a certain extent, but the car is under warrenty so I have to take it back to the same garage, took it on Thursday, but the guy that has worked on it in the past is off sick and wont be back untill a week on monday, so i will take it back then:bang:
