Hey,

A strange thing has started when the blowers in my mk2 2002 punto is moved to position 4 [max] all the blowers turn off. If I do it with the interior light of I notice they dim with I engage position 4.

Any ideas what this could be?

Cheers
Matt

Cool, just popped into fiat and they were saying as the other work and 4th doesn't it could be the switch on the dial. Supposedly the 4th setting is hard wired or something

Does that sound right?
They have ordered both parts and will check it out on wednesday

If it works on max but not other speeds then its resistor pack

If it works on 1 2 and 3 but not 4
Thats gonna be a wiring or switch fault

Try tapping the switch when on position 4?
Does it sputter?
Failing that time to wiggle connectors and see what makes it spring to life

This happened on both my Sporting and my HGT. First thing to check is the resistor which is located just above the passenger footwell. A couple of screws and it just pops out and i managed to get replacements for a few quid on ebay.

If that doesn't work check the wiring either side of it. On my HGT it was the actual socket the resistor slots into had fused and melted. I cut the socket away and soldered the cables to it (making sure to tape them up each time so they don't touch).

Had no problems since and i've been driving the HGT for over three years now :)
