Sorry folks, I've had a good search and can't find anything to answer my question.

Question is, on eper it seems to state that the rigid pipe into the rear drum on the 1.2 16v mk2 models is now obsolete, however the diagram for the 2b model looks identical with different part no.s.

Does anyone know whether the 2b's use the same rigid rear pipes???

Any help would be really gratefully appreciated

Most likely yes
As mk2 and mk2b are identical chassis bar the face lift on front

Its rigid from master / abs
Right to the point where rear axle is
There is a flexi joint, then another solid pipe

Just go to your local shop and ask em to make you an xx length brake pipe for peanuts

And then just mouls fit to your car
Simples!

Replaced em before on current and previous car as the spun the line as they came out

Some punto's have brake compensators and no ABS, do puntos with ABS not need the comensator valve attached to the rear axle??

Mine has got ABS, and to be honest, I've never really paid much attention to the braking system other than changing front & rear components.

It does have 3 or 4 rigid pipes on the rear axle, so I assume it must have. I'll have to have another look to be certain now you've mentioned it.

If you have abs, the brakes work better all the time
The abs pump is monitoring for lock ups
So if the brakes arent locking up - you benifit a better stopping distance.

For non abs
The fact the rear drums can work better under load - harder to lock up
The valve is needed to increase that

However on the early mk2 non abs
They just had restrictor valves fitted on the master cylinder... so regardless heavy or light- they did the same
