Looks to me like the frequency of posts is going down quickly now. Lots of mk2s dead?

Interesting to see a plot of # of posts over time for the last 5 years.
I don't see many around my way ...up north near Carlisle. Mine is a mk2 5 door:) 52 plate. Love it:) you see a few mk2bs about though.

Mk1 and Mk2s are very common sight here. Hardly surprising given their rock-bottom prices, they usually serve as second/backup/commuter cars. Surprisingly, Mk1s very often seem in better shape than Mk2s.
On contrary, there are not many Mk2bs to be seen. I suspect they did not sell very well when new, probably could not compete on the local market with then aggressively marketed 1st generation of Škoda Fabia.

It's nearly a year since I've worked on one.I've probably sold 250 in the time they were more current I stopped dealing in them over 2 years ago and only know of 3customers who still come back for service repair mot work the newest punto
is over 10 years old though.never done the Grande version never liked it

I see quite a few 2bs about but only ever seen a couple of other 1.4 sportings in the flesh since owning mine.

She's starting to show her age but (touch wood) she's served me well.

I've done 26k in her over 2 years and going well, did 1500 mile trip to Scotland and back with no issues.

I do spoil her tho and she is serviced and washed regularly.

See more 2B's around here in Newport Wales than Mk2's...but still see lots of Mk2's around as well. I would guess it's most likely that a lot of owners aren't on this forum

we went 20 years without a FIAT dealer.. NEVER saw Stilo's..

I only notice TIDY Mk2's,

occasioanally the odd Mk2B

chances are all of the unloved ones have now gone to the crusher:(

our Sporting just rotted out,:bang:
my 1st Active 3 door did too( but 10 years ago..),

the loved 5 door I had after that was in really good shape.. - I've never seen it around though..
:idea:will have to do a SEARCH see if it's taxed..

The newest Mk2s are nearly 15 years old now going out of production in 2003 so it's not surprising there are less and less of them about, the ones I do see about tend to be quite rough.

Still quite a few mk2b about but if you keep an eye on eBay these are also becoming less and less, they've not reached that sub £500 point where any expensive bill or MOT failure tends to see them meet a scrap yard rather quickly.

If they had held their value a bit more then people would probably hold on to them. Great little DIY cars but people do less of that now. I even here the number of young people who want to learn to drive is becoming less also.

I saw a beautiful mk2b the other day..an 06 plate 5Dr in rosso red. It was immaculate! It had dealer plates and stickers. Keswick motor company. Penrith Cambria.
