As above oil is light red/brown which is gearbox oil is leaking at end of transmission. It looks like a sealant is gone but I am afraid if I remove the cover mind have spring pop out and etc. then I can't put it back. Will it be ok for me do at home or need a specialist to do the job? What about a leaking sealant mixed with oil to prevent do big job is really work or not?

i had an old 8v tranny leaking out of the side pan which is what you are totally describing to me

Now the gearbox's are different, but i dowt owt major will be attached to the pan when you take it off...
Mine didnt anyway

You will need to first of all free off the Fill plug hole BEFORE DRAINING TRANNY
why? when you drain it and THEN find out you cant fill it... oh dear indeed....

So once you know you can fill and then drain
Simple let it drain for about 300000million years as it slowly keeps dripping
Clean both surfaces up of old oil / gasket / contaminants (brake clean is nice here when sprayed onto a cloth)
Once all clean - fresh sealant suitable for oil pans / transmission pans and let it go off
Then refill and check for leaks

mine turned out to leak down the threads... gearbox rebuilder had split the gearbox a small amount so my leak never stopped, but it was a teaspoon every week or so... so no biggie

Ziggy

As above, end plate comes off no problem, but note one bolt is slightly shorter,so if you place the wrong longer bolt back it will separate the casing and leak oil slightly.

Double check the old oil is approximately 2 litre but when I fill it up with new oil it only top up at 0.7litre. The overflow hole it drip means the oil is level right? is the reason why the transmission was leaking because it had too much oil in?

Is this picture correct method?

2L of 75w90 oil goes inside your gearbox
I am confused why have three plugs. On Fiat Duncan van forum have picture it said first top side plug is for refill second plug down is for when oil is fill up to the right level overflow put plug in, third plug bottom is for drain. My other HGT diesel have only two plugs one on the top of head gearbox. I hope it is really a 2 litre of oil?

I had quickly chat to chap who is car mechanical, he said that is correct way to fill up oil top first plugs 2 litre I don't know why have three plugs, reason to have 2nd plug what is used for?
