Technical Punto high fuel consumption

Technical Punto high fuel consumption

so ive put some thinking in it next week i want to visit the scrap yard and get a
Map sensor and a o2 sensor (there new pricy as hell in the netherlands for the 8v) and just swap them out because the Engine ecu is good (its adjusting when you unplug the o2 sensor). The ignition must be good as well (new spark plugs, coil packs and leads). crank shaft sensor is good (no limp mode). temprature sensor must be good (assuming because its not acting strange on the dashboard).

and otherwise is must be somewhat of a wiring fault or fuel injectors that are bad( ive already used injector cleaner in the petrol so im assuming that it can be ruled out)

also i noticed a screeming sound when the engine is cold and you drive between 2000/3000 rpm but im guessing thats the auxilery belt

i realy want to keep this punto on the road because normal parts are dirt cheap,it drives amazing, this one has been cared for in the past and for the money they are realy luxerous

O2 sensor could be problem if you have bad fuel consumption. But O2 sensors will not affect how the engine drives and feel. Also if the car drives badly when cold then O2 sensor is not problem. O2 sensors affects running when the engine is warmed up at the operating temperature.
I would say start thinking in rulling out head gasket problems.
