hello everyone ,
my mk2 1.2 8v gave me a new challenge yesterday ,

i can't get an ignition
the ecu loads good and then when i try to ignite it looks like an electrical circuit error occurs , all the gauges cursors falls down and then the car reloads again .

i want you to notice that i have a fixed broken battery chassis it might be the reason ,
i recharged the battery just to make sure but no luck .

please help me my fellow punto geeks ,

Sounds like a high resistance in the battery circuit. Possible a damaged or corroded earth wire to the top of the gearbox ?

Try neg jump lead on engine mount and battery
This would confirm the earth fault clause
Ensure battery terminals are clean and tight too!
If u turned key backwards to put side lights on, do they come on?

Whats battery voltage before cranking?

take the cover off the fuse box next to battery
see if the power lead bolted in there is a lump of rust
if it is take fuse box out and remove the fixing and replace with a new bolt
you might be amazed this might be your issue
