Apparently that door can't be unlocked from the outside, you have to open from the passenger side but the central locking will open the drivers door so the whole mechanism isn't busted.
Is this common? Will the barrel need to be replaced, I've said I'll go and have a look at it for her but any forward advice would be appreciated

If thats dropped off i think that causes a spinning lock
