Should be no problems with hot heater and plenty of air to clear screen. There is an air filter inside above your legs, which could be blocked up or maybe you need to flush through your cooling system to get rid of years of crud?

As with any demisting, it is best performed with a full fan and air from outside to equalize the air temperature until your heater is hot enough to heat the air.

My punto demists best when the windows are open and the fan is blowing air up the windscreen to drive off the water vapor. In cold weather your warm breath and body heat aids misting...

Your alternative would be to have a chamois leather windscreen wipe to remove the mist and dry the windscreen.

All I can say is that 5 minutes is all it takes to warm up and my heater is so fierce that I have it set to just before the 1st red bar otherwise its like being in a sub tropical climate.

It also helps if you chose the tight air duct / vent setting, many people I know don't know what is best to use and often have the heat blowing in the foot wells abd bot up the windscreen.

similar to Mark, 5 mins and my car is blowing nice warm air. I set it to the demist position and generally by the time the air starts blowing warm the screen is clear. Once engine is at middle of gauge i have to turn the heat setting down or the inside of the car does a good impression of the Sahara dessert

i do notice that when the needle gets to the middle it soon drops to just over a quarter and the heater is on full heat but never get really hot, ill have a look for the filters when i get a chance........... dont know where they are though can someone giz a clue

thanks guys

Sounds more like the thermostat is faulty. If you run the engine up to temperature and the temperature then drops to one quarter and the bottom radiator hose is hot the thermostat is not working properly.

Filter is behind a screw on cover above the passengers feet.

Mine did exactly that some months ago. It was a faulty Thermostat, replaced it and Gauge now moves to the middle and stays there. At the time it did that the heater wasn't as efficient and didnt get the car really hot inside.
Only minor difficulty in replacing the Thermostat is bleeding the system after..it's a PITA.

do you mean connect the pink to the black and white to the black? or something different

No......

If you're refitting the original radio, then the two wires should already be in one of the connector plugs that connect to the back of the radio. I made a mistake in my post above; one of the wires will be black with a pink stripe on it (black/pink), the other will be white with a pink stripe on it (white/pink).

The two wires are to connect the radio to the car's CAN (Control Area Network). This is a computer network that sends messages around the car's electronic components.

If the black/pink and white/pink wires are not there, then it could be that you're trying to fit a later CAN enabled radio to a car that didn't originally have one. If that's the case, then you will need to get the CAN disabled at a car radio workshop. Google " disable cancheck ".
