General radio code and heater

General radio code and heater

there are no wires that colour at the back of the stereo so must be a later model the radio came from so gonna sack that idea, probably cost too much to get it disabled

Mine did exactly that some months ago. It was a faulty Thermostat, replaced it and Gauge now moves to the middle and stays there. At the time it did that the heater wasn't as efficient and didnt get the car really hot inside.
Only minor difficulty in replacing the Thermostat is bleeding the system after..it's a PITA.

done it today and on initial run up the needle went to the middle and stayed there and when i got in the car it was very warm in there :) followed what it said in the haynes manual and didnt seem to have a problem bleeding the system(so far lol)

Good, sounds like that's fixed the issue. Bleeding the system isn't difficult but sometimes it can be a pain to get all the air out.

Just be aware - the thermostat's can often in cold cold winters loose heat

if you have the heaters on full chat and driving - there is alot of cold cold cold air passing over the Nice hot radiators / Matrix

Since there is a great difference in temperatures, it allows a much greater co-efficent transfer of heat

As a result - it kinda over cools, and without realising - you can stop dropping a few knotches on the heat

I find sitting on recirculate air helps - as warm air passes once cabs warmed up

My work vans are terrible for it and there brand new!

recirculate set fan will warm up engine faster?

maybe we need to send a letter to fiat regarding this question

Just do a Cold morning test
Get 3 identical temperature morning starts Cant be that hard this time of year

1 With Fan on Recirculate Speed 3
1 with Fan on Fresh Speed 3
1 Without Fan

What warms up quickest?
I vote without fan, i dont bother driving with fans on because my work run is sooo short, i ONLY jusr get hot by time i get there and im shutting it down
Fans just make it alot slower.... unless its badly frozen so i give it 3mins to start befor i start water thawing :)
