Hey guys,
My sporting has started to develop a pretty nasty blow on the flex and I'm finally getting around to fitting a new exhaust. I've got my eyes on a Klarius FT785H pipe, but the issue is that the ad pretty clearly states this is for an 8v model. From what I've read this shouldn't be an issue, but I just wanted a second opinion before I bite the bullet. Will this exhaust fit on a 16v?
Many thanks!

I believe the 16v has 2 boxes/silencers. There's one on the mid section and one on the rear back part of the exhaust.

I don't think the 8v has this middle silencer box.

Hi Mate,

I have a 1.4 16v and I switched over my centre pipe for an 8v one. It was a lot louder as the 16v has a very heavy middle box.

So swapping you get weight reduction and a nice sound yo lol

I was happy with mine and it saved me a fair few quid at the time too.
I've since changed for a stainless straight through and is basically the same thing!

8v and 16v share the same backbox
Only difference is the middle bit

8v's dont have a middle box - only the a straight through pipe
The 16v's have a middle box - to help change the note it produces down

As you can tell the 16v can have the 8v pipe fitted and it'll increase the noise
Should cause less of a restriction too tbh

update

well, after a couple of days under the car I can confirm that for anyone wondering, the 8v exhaust does indeed fit the sporting. A word of advice; dont be a tightarse like me, just take it to a garage :D few bolts on the centre pipe were fully rusted and just rounded themselves. In the end I had to drop the manifold, which itself had a few stubborn bolts. An hours job ended up taking 2 days. But I got there in the end and the car feels like a rocket now, forgot how much I love my sporting when it's working right (y) thanks for the advice guys!

I just used the manifold I had on the car, but from what I've seen the 8v one won't work on the 16v. Could be wrong but iirc the 8v has 8 bolts on the manifold and the 16v has 9. As far as the 8v pipe connecting to the 16v manifold, no issues whatsoever :)
