Help! My Punto had become very difficult, if notimpossible to start from cold. Battery is fine, engine turns over etc but does not fire up. It's been to the main dealer 3 times - They've checked all electronics and say that all is fine. However, they say they are suspicious of the fuel injector, that the problem will probably continue and it's £300 for a new one. Once the car has started once, it drive fine and it will start first time every time after that until the engine is cold again. Has anyone had this problem? Is the main dealer right or are they having a laugh?

Hi Compadre !
YES I have exactly the same problem.
My Fiat dealer hadn't a clue - 'cos the car was warm when i got it to them.

The AA have come out 4 times - and told me its due to four differant cause - from the electronic ignition key through to the fuel cut out switch.

HOWEVER - I have had a fiddle and the only thing that seems to be effective is taking the air filter cover off and holding a hair dryer on the throttle body for about a minute .
I am so far GUESSING its something to do with the air temperature sensor in the throttle body.
Hence i am in the forum seeing if I can find out about TASs and how to fix 'em.
