My Multiecuscan 2.9 with full register and my ELM327 1.3V interface to clean error on engine of Punto 1.9JTD after finished clean my EGR valve. The picture is coming up "ELM327->ECU Failed" on Engine, ABS and Climate control but it works fine only on Dashboard and Service reset.
I have already remove one resistance what it shows on Multiecuscan website which is not make any different.
Test my computer it shows:

Setting interface: ELM327 1.3V 38400

Prolific USB to SERIAL COMM PORT:
BITS PER SECOND 38400
Data bits 8
Parity None
Stop bits 1

Advanced Setting for COM5

Use FIFO BUFFERS is tick
Receive buffer 14
Transmit 16
COM port number: COM5

I can't see anything wrong with it?
It works in January after clean error was replace fuel filter but now something gone weird?
Try on my brother's Punto and my sister's Punto it works fine on Bosch EDC15C7 but my is Bosch EDC16C

dont put in a specific engine ECU and scan for errors

You mean scan F11 first??

To let you all know if you have error like this "ELM327->ECU Failed"
check 60 amps fuse at side of the engine, because my it blew for some reason that is why it won't work on Multiecuscan because of failed CAN U1602 CAN line error.
check if you have the same problem in the future.
