I am attempting to replace the fan heater speed control on my Fiat Punto Active 2004, and have removed all the relevant screws to remove the centre console, but I cannot disconnect the cigarette lighter. I have read the Guides related to this, which state that it simply pulls out but it does not.

Any ideas why?

As an alternative if I were to cut the wires as close as possible, would I be able to reattach them later?

The wires do pull out but you have to do it in a particular way

You just get a good grip and pull it out. (or at least i do). It works for me.

Thanks for the reply, but that will enable the removal of the bulb. I am trying to disconnect the white block further back.

You simply need to just disconnect that white plug
A little jiggling and that whole fasica will come off without issue

Those white plugs on a first time removal cant be a little tight - press and wiggle
it will come off- access aint great but its totally do-able

Thanks Ziggy122 for your reply, unfortunately I am impatient and I cut the wires. There is a catch on the driver's side that you have to push in, in order to release the white block. Also I can repair the damage done with a little extra wire land solder so not the end of the world.

I have taken some photos so that other can see where the catch is.

Thank you all for your replies, it is much appreciated. :)
