My new oil filter arrive today but not in the right size for Punto HGT diesel have short neck oil filter but the one I have receive was long neck from same JTD 85. Tread is same size. Will the long neck affect my engine than short neck?

Why don't you ask the wonderful Eurocarparts for the answer? They are supposed to be the experts, that's why everyone runs to them for cheap parts.

They are not a reliable company, they do not know what you need. You should do your own research for your car and take responsibility for what you get..

I know that there are three for the petrol engines. Two different diameters and one of those comes in two different lengths. Mine has different lengths and I've used both with no apparent problem. Afaik the length thing was something to do with there not being enough space on one particular car for the long one. In general a bigger filter is better.
If you use the wrong diameter you generally have a big oil leak all over the floor.

That's why I always use GSF, they're not all just out of school kids like you get at Euro
