Hi,
The part is the rear light cluster connector. It may come as seperate housing and contacts. You should change both. You really need the proper tool to crimp the contacts to the wires.
Sorry to be blunt, but if you don't know what it is, you probably should not replace it yourself. Another option is to solder a different connector to the cluster with short flying leads and replace the one you photographed with the matching half of the new one.

Nowhere near but thanks for the offer! I'm going to find some who knows what there doing to teach me

1. Make sure the pins in the White connector have not distorted with heat, a common problem.

2. Check the earth block in the boot to the left of the boot lock behind the carpets.

Thanks for the help, getting up to fix it tomorrow

Hi mate you seem a bit desperate I had a very similar fault to you, went to the local scrap yard found the same model and removed the rear light connection c/w a section of wiring then spliced this into my wiring, colour by colour so as to get it right using a small connector block. Also check the contacts on the light cluster and made sure there is no burning or discolouration which would occur if there is a bad or loose connection, if this is the case change the cluster (not too expensive at the scrappies) Hope this helps good luck sollie

Me personally - if a darn good clean and readjustment of the pins doesn't cure it

Then i would yes go to a scrap yard and harvest a decent 2nd hand plug and probably the light as well

Again with battery off

One by one, you cut the old out - rejoin the new and heatshrink it well

If you were planning a towbar socket - i'd run a pigtail off that too into a connection block :)
