Bit worried now, as the mechanic changed the timing belt, tensioner, and water pump. It was fine for 2 days, but there's a metal rattling noise around 2000rpm now, when cold and hot as well. I'm wondering he made it too tight and the tensioner bearing already gone, or something became loose after 2 days?
Hope you have any suggestions.

Thank you

I can't play that file for some reason. Have you opened the bonnet and asked someone to rev the motor for you. It might help to locate the noise. A known rattler is the heat shield on the exhaust manifold.

Hi,colleague! My case was the same-the same noise. The timing belt was very tight.Loosen the timing belt the noise disappeared. The engine became quiet again./sorry for my english/(y)

Take the timing belt covers off and have a look at the tensioner. There's a gauge on the tensioner which tells you if the right amount of tension is being applied to the belt.

I had the same thing after fitting a new belt and tensioner, it turned out that the belt was to tight and I ended up needing a new water pump . So being as you have replaced the pump fingers crossed it is just the belt that is a little to tight grapeman were is this gauge you mention ? I never saw one when I did mine

The gauge is on the tensioner. When you adjust it, the notch on the outer body needs to align with the inner body's notch. See the attached picture (I've put red circles around the notches)

I don't recall anything like that on the 8V. It's just a bearing with an eccentric retaining plate on the mounting post. Finger pressure to tension whilst tightening.
