Hello. Yesterday i asked a friend to grab mu car and when he turned it on he forced the keys.

Sometimes in my Punto elx Mk2 (2002) e need to go back to the beginning state, because i will force the keys i go further. He didn't knew and forced it.

When it turned on it made a strange noise, as in starting engine but could't really finish the starting point. It did that for about 4/5 seconds, we immediately turned it off.
The car has battery, the radio and the interior lights are working, however the keys are not being recognized. Nothing happens. Really nothing when i put them after that first forcing.

This is the video with what happens:

Do you know of what it might be and how i might fix this?

So you turn the key - but have NOTHING

Yet the stereo can work - meaning there is SOME power

Start with - leaving the stereo off
Ensure the car's battery is fully charged (over 12.3v is best)

Since the Key fits and turns, it either says to me that there no power been switched by the ignition key mechanism

OR a relay/fuse has blown giving it no power

I'd also check the big connection block behind the keylock mechanism, because if its melted, i'd be starting to find out why its melted

Ziggy
