Hi guys,

was just vacuuming my car and after moving my seats etc the airbag light came on.

Realised I may of knocked the connectors under the seats so gave them a wiggle and the light cleared.

However, I swear since this my car seems less 'pokey'... Would the airbag failure trigger limp mode?

I'll put it on the scanner tomorrow but just thought I would ask.

Thanks,

Charlie.

im with flisko - i've been using supermarket fuel for years
No issues with needing fuel cleaner

Regular servicing is key really

lack of power can be anything from a present but weak spark, to a blocked airfilter restricting airflow

Even a wet airfilter would mess the car up

She's not juddering or anything, just pick up seems a bit slower and not so instant.

Interesting you say wet, as I took her to car wash prior!

were you running the engine as it went through?

But water getting into the engine bay is pretty likely, it just needs to soak a coil pack or suck lots of moisture up via the air filter intake and hey presto - a rather odd - lack of power

A sunshine bath to dry her out
or a good long hard drive to dry it out

Well my symptoms seem to have got worse, when I change to second I'm getting a judder and stuttering unless I put my foot down?

I'm not getting any warning lights but still haven't put her on a scan as yet.

I've noticed my exhaust is blowing where mid and rear sections meet also - could this have a knock on affect?

Thanks, Charlie.

So I repaired my exhaust but noticed the car still seemed to be lacking power at times.

Turns out a couple of things were up with my ignition, even though the scan didn't actually flag up any errors. (I just noticed a difference)

First of all I don't have manifold heatshield, which has meant all the protectove covers around the wires that go to my coil packs have melted and a few of the wires protective housing has perished, leaving the wire exposed.

Secondly the previous owner has fitted new plugs, but has not set the electrode gaps!

Today I repaired the wiring, replaced the plugs properly and I am amazed at the difference!

The car is soo responsive and pretty bloody quick!

Just shows how important these things are.
