Depending alot really

I'd say your looking at 750 - 1500 depending on things really

750 will get you a cat C car though
1500 should get you a low mileage Decent condition Active Sport

I'd probably pay a little more for the 1.4 16v, but i'd avoid if its your first car, as insurance will be sore on the rear

Im still finding it steep just with an 1.2 8v car

Ziggy

I was thinking a grand myself.. pretty set on a active 8v

check out the ins.. 1.4 in a grande is like an 850cc in a 2/B;)

it's a sound car, (y)
but I'd be tempted to spend a LOT less on my 1st foray into car ownership

that £400 one is still worth a look:)

Charlie

I'm trying to contact the guy Charlie but he ain't replying..

cars are more expensive down south so it seems,

depends what mileage you want and condition, iguess,

There's sod all within a 20 mile radius of Brighton man.. which is why I've decided I'm gonna just save and keep an eye out I think I can raise about a grand by end of July which should be enough for a decent mk2b with 60k on the clock from what I've seen about.. I'd love a sporting model but insurance is going to be crap for me till I have my first year under my belt.. although I hit 25 in march which should go in my favour!

Have you got any car 'Auctions near by,?

if so, go to a couple..not to buy at first, but to see whats going through noting the prices,

what you couid save on auction prices couid go towards your insurance,

That's a valid point I'll look into this because I'm not sure being the answer to that I'm sure there will be nearer to London I suppose

Who's going to service it ? If you plan using a local garage that maybe family have used you could put the word out there that you are in the market. They may know someone, a customer even.
